Head Fall (Rowan)
2014
The waterfall is loosely based on Pistill y Rhaedr, which is a waterfall in North Wales where I grew up, and an important part of Wales’s geographical heritage. This piece explores the theme of landscape and portraiture in this 3D medium, and attempts to question whether both could become interchangeable depending on the viewer’s perspective. Can the portrait be seen as a physical plane? Or can the landscape become a collection of features that represent a whole conciousness or personality, and are not considered as simply making up a landscape?
