This is a developmental piece designed to push the limits of my technique through realistic landscape representation. The subject is a rain-swollen mountain river the day after a storm. The atmosphere is hazy and humid, the raging water brown with peat and soil washed from the banks. Colours and textures are manipulated to communicate a sodden yet fresh, peaceful, and fecund environment.
